From an overall perspective, it is evident that the number of internet searches rose significantly between 2004 and 2010. In addition, Google witnessed the dramatic growth in its market, while the figure for other majors declined gradually.
In November 2004,the total number of US searches was at only 4,5 billion, while in the next 6 years, the figure had more than triple, stood at 16 billion in 2010.
Regarding to the line graph, the total of online research using different search engines rose remarkable for Google and had an downward trends for other engines,In November 2004, the highest data belonged to Google at 35 percent, then continued increase steadily to nearly 65 percent at the end of the period.Meanwhile, Yahoo which started with over 30 percent , saw an downward trend, falling to 15 percent.Microsoft accounted for less 10 percent during the years, experiencing only a slight drop at the end of period.Other research engines was AOL and Ask Jeeves , there had no significant change during the period, each remaining under 10 percent and had an downward trend.
