The table and graph demonstrate the number of international tourists and income from tourism in four countries in East Asia from 2000 to 2014.
Overall, the arrival of international visitors all increased in these countries throughout this period, while Thailand maintained the highest position. Also, the tourism revenue in these countries showed similar tendency.
In terms of the international tourist arrivals, the number in these four countries all rose during this period with Thailand increased the most drastically from 9. 5 millions(m) to 24. 8m, which maintained top the list throughout this period. Meanwhile, the number in Japan increased the slighest by only 8. 6m to 13. 4m which took the lowest position during this period. In addition, the number in South Korea rose from 5. 3m to 14. 2m, while that in Singapore increased from 7. 7m to 15. 1m.
Regarding the tourism revenue in these countries, which also changed significantly. The revenue in Thailand is 7 billion USD in 2000, which stayed at second position. However, it increased by 20 billion USD to 27 billibon USD from 2000 to 2014, which ultimately ranked first. Besides, the revenue in Singapore and Japan showed a similar trend. However, in the first five years, the revenue in South Korea dropped from 7 billion USD to 5 billion USD. But it increased by 7 billion USD to 12 billibon USD in the subsequent ten years.
