The table and pie charts give an overview of the number of international and australian research students in 2001 ans 2010 as well as their gender categories.
In 2001, the total number of research students were 38,849 among which 33,657 were australian and 5,292 were international. That year the percentage of international was 13%, with 9% male and 4% female whereas for local ones, the percentage was 87% comprosing og 43% female and 44% male.
In 2010, the research students number has increased and reached 54,081 including 39,488 local research students and 14,593 international research students. The international students are less making 27% among who we have 12% of male and 15% of female whereas the local students revealed to be 73% of all research students including 35% of female and 38% male.
In conclusion, the number of research students has increased from 2001 to 2010 and australian students were the majority with male dominance.
