The chart table presents the data about the quantity both domestic and foreign students, who conducted researched and studied in universities in Australia in 2001 and 2010 and the pie chart demonstrates the percentage of the students divided into 4 categories (local male, local female, non-local male and non-local female) who took part in it.
Overall, the general number of researchers in 2010 was higher than in 2001. The local male and female students were involved more in investigations comparing with foreign one in the both mentioned years.
According to the bar chart, the total number of research students reached 54,084, showing the growth by 15,235 in comparison with 2001 (38,849). The engagement of the local students was on the top in the 2001 and 2010 with 33,657 and 39,488 respectively. The number of foreign students was tripled by 2010 showing the considerable growth from 5,192 to 14,593.
As for the data in the pie chart, the percentage of domestic men and women students were nearly the same with 44% and 43% respectively in 2001. In 2010, the male domestic students saved the leading position with 38%, while the percentage of local female students was 35%. The percentage of foreign male students was 9% in 2001 and 12% in 2010 showing the rise by one third. The involvement of non-local female students in researches just tripled by 2010 (from 4% to 15%).
