The table gives information on how much money people spent on buying various items in multiple countries in the year 2002.
Overall, it is evident that the most money was spent on food, drinks, and tobacco, and minute amounts were invested in leisure activities and education.
Food, drink, and tobacco were the most paid for, with Turkey being a large contributor, accounting for 32.14%. The expenditure of Ireland was also relatively high (28.91%). Comparatively, people in Sweden spent the least on groceries, at 15.77%. Spain and Italy spent 18.80% and 16.36%, respectively. Whereas, the public invested very small amounts in leisure and education, of which Spain spent only 1.98%. Turkey spent the most on education and hobbies, at 4.35%. People in Italy and Sweden allocated about 3.20% and 3.22% of the funds, while Ireland spent relatively less, at 2.21%.
In the case of clothing and footwear, Italy was the highest contributor, recording 9%. In the countries of Ireland, Spain, and Turkey, buyers allocated money with close differences, i.e., 6.43%, 6.51%, and 6.63%, respectively. Sweden’s spending on clothing and footwear was comparably low, about 5.80%.
