From the table we can see that London has six main airports that serve arrivals to London and departures from London in one year 2011-2012. In general, the number of passengers who used London’s airports had increased since 2011. Furthermore, the most active airport in London was Heathrow and the least active airport in London was Southend.
First, Heathrow airport has the greatest number of passengers, with 70 million and 52% of total passengers of London’s airports. To illustrate, Heathrow airport changed from 2011 approximately +1% and was the second nearest airport from central London at 22km. In addition, the Loton airport was changed from 2011 nearly +1% with 9.6 of number of passengers. Moreover, Luton airport had 7% of the total passengers and was 57km away from central London. To continue, London City airport changed about +1% and constituted 2% of the total of the passengers. To demonstrate, the number of passengers had used London City was 3 million.
On the other hand, London had two airports that were 64km away from central London, they are Stansted and Southend. Stansted is the only one airport changed by almost -3% and had 13% of total passengers. Southend had a huge changed by 135%, but it was the lowest airport was used by passengers with 1%. The last airport was Gatwick, which changed by nearly 2%. Furthermore, it was the second airport that was used by passengers 25%. Moreover, the number of passengers that had used was almost 34 million.
