The table below illustrates the percentages of tax received of GDP in five countries in 4-year period from 1975 to 2005.
Overall, the amount of tax collected in Sweden counted the highest in 2005, following by Japan and the equal three countries USA, Korea and Turkey. The percentage of received tax in Korea counted the smallest among the five countrues.
While the tax amount rose considerably for 12% in Korea, USA recorded a slightly increase in 2% from the year 1975 to 1985 and in the year 2005 this figure was up to 27,4%. Meanwhile, from the year 1975 to 1985 there was only a rise in 1% in Japan but from then to 2005 this figure rose up to 32,1%.
In addition, the proportion of tax recorded in Sweden increased sharply to 20% and remained the highest figure according to the other 4 countries. However, unstable figure was seen in Turkey, in which the year 1985 recorded a slight decline in 1,4% and continously rose to 27.4% in 2005.
