The table provides data on the distance that adult people travelled by different means of transportation in 1997 and 2007.
Overall, it is seen that while the number of kilometers travelled by walking, bicycle, motorcycle and bus declined, the distance covered by car, train and taxi rose. Remarkably, the most popular mean of transportation in both years was a car.
Focusing on the walking and using bus, it appears that in 2007 both figures of travelled kilometers went down substantially by 100 kilometers and 300 kilometers respectively. As for bicycle and motorcycle, the number of kilometers that people rode using these two transports saw a decline of 20 kilometers and 10 kilometers respectively over the period in question.
Turning to the last three types of transport, in 2007 there was a significant increase of 3600 kilometres in the distance that people travelled using cars . Moreover, the figure of kilometres covered by trains also rose substantially by 100 kilometres. As for taxi, people travelled 800 kilometres by this mean of transportation in 2007, compared to 200 kilometres in 1997.
