The table illustrates the average annual distance traveled by adults and what types of travel they used in 1977 and 2007.
Overall, can be seen a significant increase in distance of taxi and car, while walking, bicycle, bus, and motorcycle saw a decline in number of kilometers, with train travel remained relatively stable.
Regarding the categories that exhibited an increase in km. In 1977, cars were the most used transport, with an average distance of 3,500 km, which was almost doubled to 7,100 km by 2007. Similarly, the average distance of taxi substantially increased from 200 km in 1977 to 800 km in 2007. Meanwhile, a train travel saw a slight boost in distance from initially 900 km in 1977 to only 1000 km in 2007.
As for the other modes of travel, that showed a decrease tendency of average annual distance. Bus travel experienced a dramatic decline in km, going from 800 km to 500 km in three decades. In contrast, during the period, bicycle and motorcycle average numbers were the same (100 km), but at the end of the timeline fell to 80 km and 90 km, respectively. However, a walking travel decreased by 100 km (from 400 km to 300 km) during the 30-year span.
