The table illustrates the top 5 exports of the United States in 2021, together with an annual percentage shift in 2020. The bar charts demonstrate the proportion of USA exports sent to the UK during the 10-year period until the year 2020.
Overall, it can be clearly observed that electric vehicles were the most valuable export item, despite the major amount of laps in 2021. Most products, such as gold, jets, and petrol, also fell considerably; nevertheless, only one position increased in comparison with others. It was a medication product, which leapt to 1.5%. In addition, the share of exports sent to the UK decreased steadily over ten years.
In terms of export values, electric vehicles ranked first at $28 billion, although they fell sharply by 40% in 2020. Jets and gold followed a similar tendency, at approximately $20.5 billion and $20.1 billion respectively, where jets kept the leading position. Their gap was only $400 million, as opposed to the next product in this rank. Petroleum exports were comparatively lower, at $17 billion, after dropping substantially by 32%. In contrast, whereas the overall pattern showed a steady crash, medication products rose by 1.5% annually and reached a value of $19.1 billion.
Turning to the bar charts, the proportion of exports sent to the UK inevitably plummeted, from approximately 60% in 2010 to just over 40% by 2020. Generally, it can be noticed that the export tendency lost ground to a large extent without any fluctuations, highlighting a sustained decline of the world-class trade market.
