In terms of more popular systems, metro usage increased steadily from 3.0 million passengers in 2010 to 5.0 million in 2014, remaining the highest figure each year. Train travel also rose significantly over the period, growing from 1.4 million to 3.6 million. Meanwhile, tram usage showed a gradual increase, climbing from 1.3 million in 2010 to 2.2 million in 2014.
Regarding the remaining forms of transport, bus usage initially declined slightly from 1.0 million in 2010 to 0.8 million in 2011, but then rose sharply to reach 2.4 million by 2014. By contrast, taxis were the least popular option and experienced only modest growth, increasing steadily from 0.6 million to 1.0 million over the five-year period.
