The table chart provides information about the amount of waste production in six variety of countries (Ireland, Japan, Korea, Poland, Portugal, and the USA) for the twenty-year period. The units are measured in million of tonnes.
Overall, it is immediately apparent that over the all period, the leading country was the USA. Ireland, Japan, Portugal, and Poland experienced significant increase, whereas Korea showed a dramatic decline.
Looking at America, in early 1980, its waste production was 131 million of tonnes, showing the highest index among all six countries. In addition, its trend went up for two following periods, remaining at the top. Japan also illustrated a steady, but significant rise in the period given, starting with 28 million of tonnes at the beginning of the period, and reaching 53 million of tonnes at the end of it.
The only country demonstrated a decrease was Korea, whose index was 31 million of tonnes in 1990, and showed a dramatic decline in 2000, reaching 19 million of tonnes.
