In 1980, the amount of waste produced in Ireland was 0.6 million tonnes. However, it declined to zero million tonnes in 1990. In 2000, it increased to 5 million tonnes. On the Other hand, Japan played a significant role over a twenty-year period. In 1980, The amount of waste manufructured in Japan was 28 million tonnes. Between 1990 and 2000, it climbed to 32 million tonnes and 53 million tonnes, respectively. The number of waste production in Korea was zero million tonnes in 1980. Although it increased next decade, which was 31 million tonnes and again it decreased at 19 million tonnes.
The number of waste produced in the US was 131 million tonnes, it grew to 151 million tonnes in 1990. However, in 2000, it increased 192 million tonnes significantly. In 1980, Portugal and Poland were 2 million tonnes and 4 million tonnes. On the contrary, the amount of waste produced in Poland and Portugal were 5 million tonnes and 3 million tonnes, respectively. In 2000, it slightly increased to 6.5 million tonnes and 5 million tonnes in Poland and Portugal.
