Overall, 5 countries had some fluctuations in the proportion of household income spent on food. The percentage of chores income spent on food in the USA was the smallest while the proportion of Korea was the highest in most years.
Korea was the country which had the highest data in 3rd years. In 1950, figures of Korea showed that this country had 30,4% in the proportion of the household income spent on food. After that 10 years, the percentage of Korea sky-rocketed to 37,1%. It meant that in 10 years, the data of Korea increased 6,7%. From 1970 to 2000, the proportion of Korea followed a downward trend, starting at 25,6% in 1970 and ending at 8,7% in 2000. In contrast, the proportion of domestic income wasted on food in the USA ranked the smallest. We can easily see that all of the data’s USA followed a downward trend. The figure of the USA started at 20,6% in 1950. It then fell low, less than 1950 for 2,4% in 1960. After 10 years, the figure of the USA plunged to 13,3%, which meant the proportion of domestic salary wasted on food in the USA in 1970 declined to 4,9%. In the last year, the data of the USA fell sharply to 6,2%.
France ranked the second highest on the given table. In the first year, the proportion of France was 29,6%, less than Korea 0,8%. Then, it increased to 31,4% in 1960. After that, the proportion of France decreased though 40 years. 2000 witnessed a significant decrease in the percentage of household salary in France, declined from 16,9% in 1990 to 10,3% in 2000. Japan started at 30,3% in 1950. Then it fell down to 26,7% in 1960. The percentage of chores income in Japan experienced a significant decrease in 1970, at 20,4%, and plunged to 6,3%. From 1970, the data of Japan continued to decline and in 2010, it was 7,44%. The last country was Mexico. The proportion of Mexico started at 28,7%. From 1980 to 2000, the figure of Mexico had some fluctuations. It then went down and finally peaked at 24,9% in 2000.
