The chart compares the retirement age in six different countries based on sex. Overall, the numbers are fairly balanced across all countries and genders, with the lowest age seen in France which stands at only 57 and 56 for males and females respectively.
Looking more closely, we see that Korea ranks the highest at 68 for men and 67 for women. This can be attributed to it’s healthier life choices and longer life expectancy. Japan and Italy are at second rank with both men and women working approximately till the age of 67.
Developed countries like United States and Australia closely follow at 3rd rank and 4th rank. France is in the last position with considerable low age of 57 for males and 56 for females.
In conclusion, with improved standards of living and better healthcare systems, population in developed nations like Korea, Japan, Italy people are able to live and work for longer duration in their life.
