The table chart depicts the data about individuals who were dedicated to five different sports in the period between 2001 and 2009 in Australia. Overall, it is clear that physical activities including running, aerobics and tennis experienced an upward trend whereas the remaining exhibited the opposite.
There was an increase of people in three different activities in the period given. Running, which accounted for 1.4 in 2001 went up to 1.7 in 2005 before reaching 2.2 in 2009. This illustrates that this change was the biggest among the five. Similarly the number of tennis players slightly increased from 1 in 2005 to 1.2 in 2009. Aerobics began at 1.5 in 2001 and grew up by 0.1 each year which means it finally reached a high of 1.7 in 2009 with 15% growth in the period.
Conversely, the number of people who did cycling and swimming decreased. For instance, cycling which had the hugest loss (-20%) had 4.5 and plummeted by 1.4 in 2005. After that point, this recovered and gained 3.6 in 2009. Moreover, 3.7 million were engaged in swimming in 2001 and it showed a small increase in 2005. However, this suddenly dropped to 3.3 in 2009 meaning there was a -10% change in the period.
