Overall, it is noticeable that the number of seven kinds of sports showed a slight variation, tennis, swimming, golf and yoga were seen minor growth while the others decreased insignificantly or remained stable.
In 1999, the statistic of the community attending to play football was about 57% which was recorded as the highest figure as compared to the numbers of the rest. Although it was seen a minimal downward trend to 48%, it was still the most preferable type of sport in 2009. Accordingly, the number of people who joined tennis was 32% less than in football in 1999 but there was a slight increase and reached 33% in 2009. About 32% of people swam in 1999, it just rose slightly to 34% and flattened out after 2004.
Meanwhile, there was a mere minority of Europeans playing yoga and golf in 1999; however, their figures jumped further to 13% and 17% respectively in 2009. By contrast, the number of sporters choosing basketball accounted for 26% in 1999 and it experienced a decrease of 2% in 2009.
