The table gives information about the expenses of a used bookstore in Scotland in January and December 2018. Overall, the total cost increased by the end of the year. Most categories saw a rise, while some went down.
The biggest spending in both months was on rent. It increased from $3222 in January to $4909 in December. “Other” costs also went up, from $444 to $599. Marketing rose from $263 to $355, and maintenance went up from only $10 to $42. Professional fees more than doubled, from $51 to $132.
On the other hand, some costs became smaller. Utilities dropped a lot, from $455 to $265. Equipment fell slightly, from $53 to $43. Wages and benefits also decreased from $260 to $226.
In general, the bookstore spent more money in December than January, mostly because of higher rent and other categories.
