The table illustrates how much money was spent by a used bookstore in Scotland on eight different categories in January and December 2018.
Overall, regarding the total amount of expenditure, the figure for December was higher than that of January, with significantly higher spending on rental payments in each month.
In January, out of a total of $4758, $3222 was spent on rent, distantly followed by ‘utilities’ and ‘other’ categories, which accounted for $455 and $444, respectively. The expenditure on wages & benefits, along with marketing, represented almost the same values, with respective figures of $260 and $263. Spending on the remaining three categories, namely equipment, professional fees, and maintenance, did not exceed $60, with the lowest figure of $10 for maintenance.
In December, on the other hand, the total expenses made up $6571, $4909 of which was contributed by a rental payment. By this month, the costs of professional fees, marketing, other, and maintenance had increased, with a notable increase in the cost of the ‘other’ from $444 to almost $600. In contrast, wages & benefits and equipment had dropped in their values to just $226 and $43, respectively. Utilities also decreased, but more substantially, from $455 to $265.
