Overall, there was a rise in the number of cars manufactured in Argentina and Thailand, while a constant decline was seen in Australia’s car production. In addition, Thailand had by far the highest figures among the three countries, despite a small drop in the final three years.
The number of cars made in Thailand started at 735,852 units in 2003, after which it saw a significant rise to over 1 million units in 2006. A similar change, but to a lesser extent, was seen in the figures for Argentina, which grew from 235,088 to 325,759 in the former half of the period. By contrast, 452,163 cars were made in Australia, with a sharp decrease to around 341,268 units in 2006.
From 2006 to 2009, the number of cars produced in Argentina continued to increase, reaching 466,089 units. Conversely, the figures for Thailand and Australia dropped to 999,963 and 245,624 units, respectively.
