The table shows the number of Indian students who enrolled in full-time education at six different UK universities, as well as the increase in numbers and percent increase, in two academic years, namely 2020/21 and 2021/22. Overall, although the greatest increase in the number of Indian students was seen in Sheffield University, Coventry University eventually became dominant in the list. Notably, the lowest growth belonged to BPP University.
In 2020/21, BPP University was in the leading pack with 3,505 Indian students, followed by Coventry University, which welcomed 2,390 full-time students. Thereafter, although both universities saw growth, Coventry University outnumbered BPP University, reaching a whopping 5,290 with a 121.3% increase, while BPP University rose by 1,640, with just a 46.8% increase in 2021/22. Additionally, the University of Leicester also showed a percent increase over one hundred, 103.4%, and finished the period with 1,215 full-time students
With regard to Sheffield University, it was an unpopular university among Indian students, with only 815 students, however, in 2021/22 , the figure nearly tripled and reached 2,340 students, with a percentage increase of 187.7%. As for the University of Greenwich and Anglia Ruskin University, their figures stood at 2,455 and 1,925 before jumping to 4,540 and 3,625, with 84.9% and 69.6% increases respectively.
