The table chart shows the number of medals won by 10 different countries at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games. Overall, it is clear that these countries vary in their rankings and the number of medals they received.
The United States achieved the best results among all countries, securing the top position in the rankings. In contrast, Australia ranked 10th, marking it as the lowest on the list.
The top five countries at the Olympic Games were the United States, Great Britain, China, Russia, and Germany, each earning no fewer than 17 gold medals. Although China won more medals overall than Great Britain, the latter secured one more gold medal than China, positioning it higher in the rankings.
The countries ranked 6th to 10th included Japan, France, South Korea, Italy, and Australia. They collectively earned between 29 and 41 medals, with Japan achieving the highest total of 41 medals, including 12 golds. It is noteworthy that South Korea, despite winning only 3 silver medals, ranked higher than Italy, which had 12 silver medals – significantly more than South Korea – because South Korea secured one more gold medal, giving it the 8th rank in the overall standings.
