Provided table enlists the percentage of income spent on various things by different age groups and sexes of UK. The data provided in the table corresponds to the year 1998.
This table provides some interesting insights about the financial priorities and spending habits of people belonging to different age groups and sexes. As expected, women spend the most on the food and related products, followed by adults while boys spend least on the food. It is also interesting to observe that children spend most on the electronic equipment, which is understandable as they buy toys on regular basis.
Next category is the music, where we can clearly observe the love of music among the teenage girls, boys and children. Girls spend most on the music which are then closely followed by boys and then children in the list. In last category we can observe that subscription of video streaming services and buying CDs and DVDs is most common in young boys.
It can be concluded that people from larger age groups tend to spend more on food and less on the entertainment activities like music, electronic equipment and videos while opposite is true for children and teenagers.
