The table illustrates fluctuations in the number of individuals undertaking international travel in the years 1990, 1995, 2000 and 2005, measured in millions. Overall, the figures of international travellers experienced upward trends for all those continent destinations, while Europe had the most favored destination throughout the period.
Regarding to the three most popular destinations in 1990, 280.2 millions Foreign visitors to Europe outnumbered those to America and Asia and the pacific, with 80.5 and 60.2 millions, respectively. 15 years later, the number of international travellers to Europe witnessed considerable increase and ended with 400.2 million people, which made the continent still head- the list. Similarly happened to the Asia and the pacific foreign visitors, althought there was no significant increased comparing to the Europe, the number still ended with 135.8 million tourist between 1995-2000,and surpassed the 113.2 million visitors to America.
Turning to other continents, there were 18.2 million visitors to Africa, nearly twice as many as the number of Midlle East visitors in 1990. 15 years later, Africa and Middle East faced a steadily increases, with the addition of 2 million people every 5 years for both continents and ended with 28.7 and 15.8, respectively.
