The table above shows details of the average number of hours Europeans spend on the Internet at different ages.
Overall, it is clear that both men and women aged 16-20 spend the most hours online, while those aged 51 and over spend the least amount of time online. Not only that, the difference between the highest and lowest numbers is quite telling.
Firstly, the younger age group, especially the 16-20 age group, has the highest internet usage time, with males spending 19 hours and females spending less than an hour. The 11-15 age group has the second highest internet usage, with males spending 8 hours and females spending 6 hours, slightly more than the 21-25 age group, which spends 7 hours and 5 hours respectively.
In the remaining age groups, the time spent on the internet is quite similar. Women in the 26-30 and 31-50 age groups both spend 4 hours on the internet, in contrast, men in the 31-50 age group spend 3 hours on the internet, an hour less than the 26-30 age group. The age group 51 and over has a relatively low amount of time, with men spending 2 hours and women spending more than an hour.
