The table presents the average number of hours spent on the internet by European males and females of six age groups.
Overall, individuals aged 16-21 recorded the highest levels of the internet usage, and the average spent time online declined progressively with age for both genders. Despite males and females spend slightly more time online in the yourger age groups, this pattern reversed among older adults.In term of younger people, those aged 16-21 spent the most time on the internet, with males averaging 19 hours compared to females 18 hours. Usage was also relatively high among 11-15 years old, at 8 hours of males and 6 hours of females. However, the figure dropped sharply in aged 21-25, which males spend 7 hours and females 5 hours.
A similar downward trend can observed among the older age groups. For individuals aged 26-30, both genders spent at 4 hours. Among 31-50, females are a slightly exceed males, at 4 hours compared to 3 hours. The lowest figure are aged 51+, where females spent 3 hours average, and males spent 2 hours.
