Overall, the metro was the most popular public transportation of all the categories and reached its peak in 2014, while taxis were the least used transportation over the past 4 years. All the catogories show an upward trend, between 2010 and 2014 except buses which had an decrease in 2011.
Looking in more detail, metro was the highest public transportation in 2010 with 3 million people used metro, and the second were trains approximately 1.4 million, followed by trams, buses, and the lowest were taxis with only under a million of people. In 2011, all of the types of transportation rose, while buses dropped to 0.8 million. Furthermore, in 2012 all of the public transportations grew with metro as the most used transportation, whereas taxis still the lowest with only 0.8 million.
In 2013, the number of people who used public transportation continued to increase. Trains increased to 2.3 million, buses to 2.1 million, trams to 2 million, taxis were the lowest with 0.9 million but still increased from last year, and metro to 4.4 million. Similarly, in 2012, all the transportation was increased and metro reached a climax with 5 million, followed by trains, buses, trams, and the last one was taxis with only a million.
