The table chart compares the number of international visitors to Australia at three different years (2013, 2018, 2023), by four main several reasons.
Overall, the total number of visitors peaked substantially in 2018, before returned to its previous form in 2023. Subsequently, travelling for holiday and friends/relatives had a slight increase, while visiting for business and edication/other rise modesty.
In 2013, the number of international travellers to holiday started the highest level with 2.8 million in 2013 and grew gradually with 4.1 million in 2018. However, the figure of visitors to holiday declined considerably with 2.3 million in 2023 . Following that , visiting friends/relatives experienced with 1.6 million visitors in 2013 and increased sharply with 2.6 million in 2018. On the other hand , travellers dipped with 2.3 million in 2023.
Turning to, education/other and business sectors remained lowly. Business travellers increased marginally from 0.8 in 2013 to 1.0 million in 2018. However, the number of travellers to business plummeted to 0.6 million in 2023. The figures for education and other reasons stayed remarkably and fluctuated slightly from 0.9 million in 2013 to 1.0 million in 2018, then dropped to 0.9 million in 2023. As a result, the total number of travellers increased rapidly from 6.1 in 2013 to 8.7 million in 2018, before returning ro 6.1 million in 2023.
