The illustrated table demonstrates the most common hobbies that British senior high school students preferred to do during their holidays in 2003.
Overall, it is clear that the majority of pupils of both genders watched movies in their free time. While male students were devoted to playing sports, females liked reading and shopping activities more than man. Some activities were less popular among both genders.
Approximately the same number of females and males loved to watch during their holidays, accounting for 27 and 23 figures respectively. Sleeping/resting activities were popular among both male and female students, however, the number of female pupils who preferred this activity (25 people) was significantly more than male individuals (15). In contrast, both genders favoured categories, including self-education and gardening, considerably less than any other activities. The number of people who did them during their holidays accounted for fewer than 7 people.
According to the table, while male students pursued playing sports (31), only 8 female pupils did the same. Female students mainly chose to read (16) and do shopping (22) in their free time. However, among males these activities were less common, as there were nearly half of them.
