The table shows the most popular holiday activities among British senior high school students in 2003.
Overall, the highest number belonged to watching movies for female and playing sports for male while gardening and self-education took the smallest for both female and male .In general, girls tended to choose mental entertainment activities while boys were more interested in sports.
In detail, playing sports is the most popular activities for male with 31 students and being four times the number of females (8). Next, the difference is clearly shown in reading and shopping. The number of females in these two activities is 16 and 22, is at least double the number of males (8 and 9). In which activities that do not have much significant difference is sleeping/resting with female being 25 and male being 15.
However, there are still similarities between the two groups. In self-education and gardening, both female (6,4) and male (5,6) have similarities. Not surprisingly, watching movies was the most activities for female with 27 students and 23 for male.
In conclusion, watching movies was the most common holiday activity, while gardening and self-education were the least popular among both genders.
