The table illustrates international student population in UK acquicing pedagogical training in 2007/8 and 2008/9 academic year and percentage of male qualifiers.
Overall, in both academic years tefl in female was higher than men, while male qualifiers makes almost a quarter. Cambridge UCLES CELTA and other degrees makes much lower result compared to tefl in both genders.
On the one hand, in 2007/8 study year total number of students contained 32.930 and 23.842 were female students and 8.165 were males. However, students who came for TEFL were around 25.446 and females were much more numerous than males at 18.460 and 6,870 respectively. Students who came to UK for Cambridge UCLES and other degrees were much lesser than who came for TEFL. Males in this cotegory were almost five time lesser than females. But the percantage of male qualifers made almost quarter in TEFL and 17.3 percentage at cambridge ucles and other degrees.
In 2008/9 academic year the number of international students in UK raise slightly to 32.945. From this, female students raise from23.842 to 24.324. Meanwhile the nimber of male students decreased slightly in every category and even in male qualifiers. At TEFL male students were only 6.545 while females were almost three times higher. The proportion of male qualifiers decreased a bit in this academic year. In 2008/9 females who came for Cambridge UCLES CELTA and other degrees were 8.028 a bit higher than previous year and males contained only 966.
