The table illustrates data about the type of the world’s marine fishing industries, particularly focusing on statistics about large and small scale industries.Overall, it is clear that small-scale fishing provides far more employment than large-scale industrial companies. It should also be noted that large-scale industrial processing is carried out by large ships opposed to small boats.
As for the number of employees, local boats involve more or less 12 million workers, which is higher than industrial ships (just above a half million). In terms of capital cost, large-scale marine companies offer the highest salary to each job, with $30,000-$300,000. Compared to this, not as much small-scale industries pay as large ships per employees ($250-$2,500).
On the other hand, the figure for annual catch and fuel oil consumption which industrial ships are the leader rather than local boats. Food is catched by industrial ships and small-scale fishing companies (29 million tonnes and 24 million tonnes, respectively). Furthermore, only the industrial ships contributes considerably to industrial processing, with approximately 22 million tonnes, whereas small-scale sectors experience almost none. Similarly, ten times as much fuel ships consume as boats. (roughly 20 million tonnes and 2 million tonnes accordingly)
