Qualifications related to English Language Tutors received from year 2007/8 and 2008/9 is illustrated by the tabular chart.
It is evident that in both years most qualified teachers were female in TEFL as well as Cambridge UCLES CELTA & other degrees, whereas males were less qualified in front of females.
In detail, in 2007/8 , the total numbers of teachers were 32,930 out of which females accounted for 23,842 and males were 8,165, only 24.7% were males. In terms of qualification 25,446 females obtained TEFL and males figure were significant low at 6,870, followed by Cambridge UCLES CELTA & other degrees, which was 5,382 for female and 1,295 males.
In year 2008/9, females number slightly fell to 18,446 in obtaining TEFL degree and males also got less qualified (6,545). In Cambridge UCLES CELTA & other degrees, the numbers drooped to 5,878 for females and 966 for males. In total 32,945 teachers qualified in 2008/9. All in all males were less involved in becoming a language teacher.
