In terms of consumption of potatoes, Europe recorded the highest figure at 96.1 kg per person. This was followed by North America and Asia, accounting for 57.9 kg per person and 25.8 kg per person, respectively. In stark contrast, Africa was the least figure, with only 14.1 kg per person of consumption of potatoes.
Turning to production of potatoes, the number of potatoes production Asia rose significantly to 131.2 kg per person. Similarly, Europe saw a substantial leap from 96.1 kg per person for consumption potatoes to 126.3 kg per person production of potatoes. However, the figure for South and Central America and Africa remained relatively stable, showing only a marginal change, which was 15.6 and 16.4, in that order.
