The table displays information about the consumption, in kilograms, and production, in million tonnes, of potatoes in five different continents, such as South and Central america, Africa, North amercia, Europe and Asia. This study was made in 2006.
Starting with the consumption of potatoes, is evident that Europe lead the table with a potatoe consumption of 96.1 kilogram per person, which is more than the double of consumption of Africa, being the lowest ingesta of potatoes in this table. Following Africa is South and Central america with a 23.6, after that is Asia with 25.8 and finally North america, being the second biggest consumption with a 57.9 kilograms per person.
In the other hand, the production of potatoes changes the leaders and the numbers. In this occasion, Asia is the biggest potatoes producer with 131.2 million tonnes of potatoes. Europe is the second biggest with 126.3 million tonnes of potatoes produced, followed by North america with a 24.7 of potatoes, then Africa, producing 16.4 million tonnes of potatoes. In the end with a slightly declive is South and Central America with 15.6 million tonnes of potatoes produced
