The table details the proportions of people from three different age brackets in terms of seven diverse pastime activities during the month before attending the interview. Overall, vast majority of all age groups preferred engaging in watching TV/DVDS whereas were not attracted to Dressmaking/Needlework/Knitting. It is also evident that Visiting/ entertaining friend/ relations showed noteworthy percentages as well.
Watching TV/DVDs as well as Visiting/entertaining friend/ relatives stood out with significant proportions of individuals. Watching TV/DVDs was considered the dominant activity among all age groups, making up 99%. Visiting/ entertaining friends/relatives, in contrast, shared the same proportions ( 98%) among people aged 16-19 and 25-29, which was a mere 3% more than elderly people aged 60-69. Listening to music, at the same time, accounted for 98% and 93% for citizens aged 16-19 and 25-29, respectively, while it became less popular among the elderly, only making up 65%. Reading books, on the other hand, were opted by over half of participants to at their free time.
The remaining recreational activities, however, showed a rather contrasting picture. Half of young adults and 38% of elderly citizens selected DIY as a pastime activity, while only a quarter of teenagers displayed interest in this type of free time activity. Regarding gardening, it was popular among people advanced in years, accounting for 61%, whereas it constituted 15% and 35% for teenagers aged 16-19 and young adults aged 25-29, respectively. Finally, Dressmaking/Needlework/Knitting was the only category that attracted the smallest percentage of participants, responsible for 9%, 14%, and 27% for people aged 16-19, 25-29, and 60-69, correspondingly.
