However, in Slovenia, the expenditure rate was 25% as opposed to participation rate of 40%, making it close runner-up on the chart. As for Hungary, its expenditure was 13%, while the participation rate stood at 34%, ranking third.
When it comes to the Czech Republic, its expenditure was 9% in 2002 compared to its participation rate of 27%. Similarly, in Romania, there was a smaller discrepancy between expenditure and participation, with figures of 10% and 23%, respectively.
