The table presents the proportion of government spending allocated to education and training, as well as the participation rates of 18 to 24-year-olds in education, across five countries (Poland, the Czech Republic, Romania, Hungary, and Slovenia).
Overall, it is clear that Slovenia demonstrated the highest rate of government expenditure, whereas Poland recorded the highest participation rate. The lowest figure in the expenditure rate was in Poland, and Romania had the lowest rate in participation. In each country, the participation rate is higher compared to the expenditure rate.
Looking at the details, it is evident that the most striking feature was Poland’s participation rate, with the proportion of 44%, and it demonstrated the lowest percentage in the education rate, 5% overall. While Slovenia had domination in education, it was not far behind in the participation rate, with a proportion of 23% in education and 40% in participation. At the same time, Hungary had the middle proportion in both sections, which were 13% in education and 34% in participation.
On the other hand, the Czech Republic showed a low percentage in education, with only 9%. However, the Czech Republic showed a bigger proportion in participation than Romania, which was only 23% and 27% in the Czech Republic.
