The table compares the government expenditure rate on education and training and participation rate of 18-24 year olds in the five different countries in the year 2002.
The highest percentage of expenditure on education and training in Slovenia accounted for 25 %, double approximately that of Hungary. Moreover, while the similar numbers of the Czech Republic and Romania were spent on education and training, with 9% and 10% respectively, double that of Poland.
While Poland spent the least on education and training, the percentage of participants constituted 44%, which held the first place followed closely by that in Slovenia, with 40%.
The third place was taken by the participants from Hungary, with 34 %, half as much as that from Romania.
Overall, while Slovenia held first place on spending in education and training, Poland held first place in the number of participants. The third place in both sectors was taken by Hungary.
