Overall, what stands out from the table is that the greatest number of students studied at BPP University, despite showing the least percentage of increase from 2020/21 to 2021/22. Meanwhile, although Sheffield University had a small number of students in both years, it experienced a significant growth compared to other ones.
Turning to detail, Coventry University (having 2390 students in 2020/21) rose by 2900, reaching 5290 students at the end of 2022. Likewise, the University of Leicester witnessed an increase of 103.4%, rising from 1175 students to 2390. Displaying the greatest change of percentage (187.7%), Sheffield University had only 815 students in 2020/21 and 2345 in 2021/22.
By contrast, the University of Greenwich, BPP University, and Anglia Ruskin University experienced a percentage of increase under 100%, which accounted for 84.9%, 46.8%, and 69.6%, respectively. Although BPP University hosted the highest number of students in both years (3505 in 2020/21 and 5145 in 2021/22), it saw the lowest percentage growth compared to other universities.
