The given table illustrates the budget for different purposes in five countries, namely Ireland, Italy, Spain, Sweden, and Turkey in 2002.
From an overall perspective, it is evident that inhabitants spend most of their money on food/drinks/tobacco, while the opposite pattern could be observed in the figure for leisure or education.Additionally, Turkey topped the list in most of the categories.
Regarding the food/drink/tobacco, the budget spent on these items in Turkey ranked first, far surpassing others and standing at more than 32%. The data on Ireland was slightly lower, registering at nearly 29%. The remaining countries, however, accounted for the lowest value, with the statistics ranging from 15.77% to 18.8%.
In terms of clothing/footwear, Italy hit the list with the highest rate of spending, leaving others behind at exactly 9%. This was followed by the figures for Turkey, Spain, and Ireland, at around 6% or more, compared to 5.4% of Sweden. Leisure/education, however, was the least purchased area when compared to others, in which the proportion of total expenditure on this category in all five nations was below 5%.
