The tables illustrate residents’ expectation about how the UK government should spend its budget on three different sectors, namely health, education and other areas, on the basis of gender and age group.
Overall, Men want more of the money to be spent on education and women on health while both think expenditure on other areas should stay small. Similarly, respondants upto age 34 want the country to focus on education and the remaining other asks for spotlight on health.
Almost half of the total women and one-third of the men want spending on health to be increased. At the same time, little more than half of male and little more than one-third of women want increment in the education. Subsequently, only one-tenth of both sex group want the pounds to be used for other areas.
People of any gender below age 34 wishes for increase in education which accounts for almost half. But they differ for health and other areas. 18-24 age group want least money allocation for health, while 25-34 age group for other areas. All of the other age group beyond 34 want most money allocated for health issue with almost half of them voting for it while three-fourth of people aged 65 and above opted for it.
