Overall , the percentage of men in the UK wanted the government to increase spending on education was the highest , while women placed more importance on health . Besides, the young want to invest in education and the elderly want to invest in health.
For gender , 55% of men thought education as an important investment area , compared to only 40% of women . In contrast, there are around a half of women thinking that the government should increase spending on health, whereas only 32% of men agreed. Men allocate to other areas was the same as that women , at 13% and 12 % respectively.
In terms of age group , youngest people in 18-24 and 25-34 age group focus on education was 40% and 52% , while only 12% of 65+ age group . In contrast , the proportion of people in the age groups 18-24 and 25-34 required the government should increase spending on health was a quarter and one third respectively , among for the 65+ year old group accounting for 72%. The figure for other areas, with the highest rate belonging to the 18 -24 year old group at 35% whereas the 25-34 and 65+ age groups accounted for the lowest rate was 13% and 16% respectively.
