The table illustrate the number of passengers who took the seven most popular airlines in the United States (US) in 1995 and 2005, measured in the number of people and growth rate.
Overall, it is clear that all seven airlines became more popular and had more passenger than before. In 2005 Delta Air Line had the most passengers, while Alaska Airline had the least. And JetBlue Airways was seen the largest growth rate.
In terms of the number of people who took the different airlines, Delta Air Lines topped the list again from 50000 passengers to 106700, followed by southwest Airlines and United Airlines, at 640000 passengers and 400000 passengers in 2005, respectively. American Airlines increased to 340000 passengers in 2005, up from 150,000 passengers in 1995. Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airline both experienced increases, the former rose from 120000 passengers to 257000, while the latter grew from 100,000 passengers to 250,000 passengers. In 1995, JetBlue Airways had the least passengers, but its figure increased to 300000 passengers in 2005, which was not the smallest number of passenger.
Regarding the growth rate of seven airlines, JetBlue Airway topped the list with 249%, which was 99% more than the second highest growth rate in Hawaiian Airlines. The percentage of American Airlines was the third highest at 121%, followed by Alaska Airlines and Delta Air Lines, With 114% and 113%, respectively. Only Southwest Airlines and United Airlines had growth rates which were below 100%, the former at 60%, while the latter at 33%.
