It is clear that there was a significant increase in the number of people who took these seven airlines. Among the seven airlines, Jetblue airways had the largest growth rate, while United airlines had the least growth rate.
The number of people who took Delta ailines was the largest, at 500700 in 1995, and then increaed significantly to 1064000 in 2005, with a growth rate of 113%. By contrast, JetBlue was the least popular airline in 1995, only having 86000 passengers, while it rose dramatically to 300000 in 2005, with the fastest growth speed of 249%.
There was no obvious rise in United airlines and Southeast airlines during this period. The number of people taking United airlines showed the least growth rate of 33%, with figures going up from 300000 in 1995 to 400000 in 2005. Southwest airlines had 400000 passengers in 1995, which then climbed to 640000 by the end of this period.
However, American, Alaska and Hawaiian airlines experiecned a marked increase from 1995 to 2005. The fastest-growing one was Hawaiian airlines, with numbers of people rising from 100000 in 1995 to 250000 in 2005, reaching a growth rate of 150%. The other two airlines’ increase rates were 127% in American and 114% in Alaska respectively.
