The tables illustrate the average income in the UK of graduates and non-graduates in all age groups and five specific age groups in 2010.
From an overall perspective, in all age categories, the average income of graduates was higher compared with non-graduates. The mean annual income of graduates aged 52 years old was the highest, while for non-graduates those aged 32 and 42 years old were the highest, with the same amount.
With regard to all age groups, the average salaries of graduates were 54,000 pounds, whereas non-graduates were 29,000 pounds. Focusing on five specific age groups in graduates, the most income was in those aged 52 years old, with 34,380 pounds. Followed by those aged 42 and 32 years old, with 33,500 and 32,200 pounds, respectively. Moreover, the mean payments of those aged 62 years old were 29,000 pounds and the least were 22 years old, with 24,000 pounds.
In addition, the highest average salary for non-graduates was 19,000 pounds, in those aged 32 and 42 years old. Followed by those aged 52 and 62 years old, with 18,600 and 15,280 pounds, respectively. Lastly, the least average payment was 14,300, in those aged 22 years old.
