The table chart provides information on the global population of people in terms of millions, who are undernourished from 2000 to 2009, whereas the bar chart illustrates the worldwide price of rice and wheat throughout the same timeline.
Overall, the number of people who are undernourished are increasing continuously each year. On the other hand, the price of wheat rose rapidly, while the price of rice experienced an increment as well.
Regarding the table chart, from the year 2000-2006, it displayed a slight increase, from 857 million to 876 million people. However, from 2008-2009, the number of malnourished people reached a high figure from 924 million to 1024 million – showing a huge gap of population of 100 million people.
Analysing the bar chart, in 2002, the price of wheat reached a peak of $400 per ton, however it declined gradually until 2006. Starting from 2006 to 2009, the price of wheat experienced an exponential growth from approximately $300 per ton to around $1190 per ton respectively. Subsequently, the price the rice remained consistent from 2000 to 2004. After 2004, it began to show a pronounced increase, from $200 per ton to around $900 per ton in 2009.
