The table illustrates how many universities were acknowledged top 200 in the world in three different subjects namely – biology, medicine and psychology – in five countries in 2011.
Overall, USA universities were a dominant figures in all three subjects, while the reverse was true for New Zealand universities which witnessed the least number.
The number of biology universities in USA was the most, compared to other countries, which was 69. Regarding the UK, its universities were the second leading figures in the field of biology with 30 universities. Australia and Canada had the same number of universities and New Zealand had the least, with 9 and 6 universities in accordance.
With respect to the medicine universities, USA was a dominant in this field, which was followed by the UK, with 54 and 24 respectively. Australia had 13 medicine universities, while Canada had slightly less.
USA dominated in the area of psychology as well with 58 universities. This was followed by the UK, which had as half as of the USA had. Australia had 17 universities in the area of psychology, which was almost four times as many as New Zealand universities. Regarding Canada, it had 14 psychology universities
