The table illustrates the total number of high school students in Malaysia with school years: 2004-2005 and 2014-2015. The two pie charts depict the sports preferences among Malaysian students according to a survey.
Overall, it is clear that the number of students increased. On the other hand, 2014-2015 pupils liked playing football, whereas 2004-2005 students liked tennis. In addition, rugby was the least popular activity.
During 2004-2005, the number of students was 73,000. 40 percent of them liked tennis. Furthermore, 30 percent played football. In contrast, 40 percent of 2014-2015 pupils preferred to play football, while 35 percent liked to play basketball.
Rugby was the least favourable sport in both periods with only 5 percent. Moreover, between 2014-2015, 5 percent of students liked to swim and the number fell from 10 percent compared to 2004-2005. Additionally, tennis players decreased by 25 percent during 10 years. Finally, it is evident that basketball players rose by 20 percent from 2014 to 2015.
