Moreover, the figures for tidal power and geothermal were slightly the same, which were 6.8% and 6.9%, respectively. The figure for solar energy was the lowest, at 3.6%.
Regarding employees in each sector, although the amount of solar energy regenerated was lowest, the staff in this sector was clearly the highest, at 12,450 people in 2009. Furthermore, the number of people working in geothermal was 4,590, which was nearly twice as high as tidal power, which was 2,034 staff. Besides, both figures for workers in wind power and hydropower were nearly the same, which were 1,198 and 1,013, respectively.
